Joe Madden I don't know how this manages to sound so familiar and accessible and at the same time so deeply and disorientingly strange. It's a spooky and addictive act of witchcraft and I can't get enough. Shades of Bowie on track 3 -- the sense of drama, some unexpected and very cool chord changes, really inventive arrangements.

kimbendixjr A lovely surprise, bursting with unusual hooks and sonic detail. Breezy Broadcast-y library music weaves in and out of Ulrika Spacek style psych pop. A unique gem, melancholy and euphoric in equal turn. Favorite track: maybe it all comes at once.

mronning12 This will be my favorite album of the year. The arrangements both feel emotionally indulgent and instrumentally economic. I could listen to the harmonic overdrive on the drums forever. I love how impossible the era is to pinpoint on this record, making it seem fully modern but also ambiguous. It feels obsessively melodic and still weird and left of center. Love the synth and electronic work alongside the comfy musicianship and sonic environment the record creates. Favorite track: imperial phase.
